Happy thanksgiving everyone! My best wishes of love and joy for your families.
Food is the spicy ingredient that makes us join together around a table. So, I want to share with you the Family turkey recipe....from Chile! My mom taught me this recipe when I was younger and I always prepare ir for Thanksgiving and for New year. So here we go!
Ingredients.
- One big turkey
- 2 cups of white wine
- 3 cups of coñac
- 3 Garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon of chili paste
- 7 oz of pitted prunes and 3 apples
- oregano, black pepper, salt
- 1 pound of beacon
Instructions.
Wash the turkey and salt it with your hands. Mix the wine, pepper, oregano, chili paste and garlic together and using your hands, cover the turkey with half of the mix and put the other half inside of the turkey with the apples and prunes.
Using a food injector ( I love mine, Beast injector, find it at Grillbeast.com) put the coñac in between the skin of the turkey. You can see in my stories how I did it today!. Cover with the slices ob beacon and take it to the oven for 4 hours at 350 F covered with foil paper. You can take out the foil for the last 30 minutes so it can take that amazing color...
When I do this turkey recipe I love to use for the side dish roasted potatoes and red cabbage garnish.
I hope you enjoy it as me and my family do.
